We are redistributing ally funds gained through privileges directly to long-term Black Oakland residents. This initiative is Black and ally led. Recipients are identified by a network of Black led organizations such as the East Oakland Collective and others.

Reparations is a call to action the Black community has been reviving for decades. The goal of this work is to make progress on these intentions NOW while as a country, we continue to strategize an approach. We don’t want to wait for the perfect solution, we want to make an impact in people’s lives today. 

How it Works

  1. Allies contribute funds here.

  2. Long-term Black Oakland recipients are identified by trusted Black-led organizations.

  3. Recipients receive $300/month for one year.

    We see this fund as one step in the journey towards reparations.
